This museum, located in three restored shophouses in the heart of Chinatown, illustrates the harsh conditions in which the Chinese community lived and worked in Singapore’s early days. Occupying three levels, it re-creates scenes from old shops, coffee shops, and living cubicles, with an interesting exhibit dedicated to the “four evils” of gambling, opium smoking, prostitution, and secret societies.
